Next time you choose to ship your goods with us, take some steps to ensure that the process is even simpler for you:
1. Make sure your facility is tractor trailer-accessible
One of the most important ways that you can simplify your shipping experience is to ensure that our trucks have adequate access to your facility. When you are organizing a pickup, make sure the pickup location has the proper facilities and can accomodate a tractor trailer. A tractor trailer should be able to back into a loading zone.
2. Minimize waiting time
Once you’ve arranged your pickup with us, we’ll give you an estimated time when you can expect our driver to arrive for the pickup. It’s important that you’re prepared for this pickup time so you can minimize waiting time. Ensure that your goods are ready to be loaded into the trailer ahead of this estimated time so your driver can stay on schedule and your goods can be delivered in a timely manner.
3. Make sure goods are properly packaged
We always do everything we can to prevent your goods from being damaged, but this process begins with you. Make sure all of your goods are properly packaged, especially if you are shipping food or electronics. Fragile items should be packaged with bubble wrap or other protective packaging.
4. Have the proper paperwork and documents
To transport any kind of shipment you will need a bill of lading. A bill of lading includes information about your shipment, including the product description, size, weight, origin and destination, as well as other important information. You must ensure that you have your bill of lading, and any other important documentation, completed and handy when your driver comes to pick up your shipment. Without this important information, we may not be able to complete your shipment. We can provide you with a bill of lading if you don’t have one.
